Riverof Trade Corridor Coalition Annual Meetingheld in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary Transportation Summit, Friday, August 10, 2007, Irving, Texas.
The River of Trade Corridor Coalition had a very insightful and educational Annual Meeting in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary Summit held in Irving, Texas. Public and private sector members from along the Corridor were present. The Coalition heard updates on general membership and the ever-expanding ROTCC Legislative and Congressional Caucuses. Meeting attendees also heard overviews of the ROTCC National Quarterly Meetings in Los Angeles and in Windsor, Ontario.
A variety of topics were addressed such as trade between U.S. and Mexico via a presentation the Mexico Chamber of Commerce and a presentation regarding RFID by Chris Hanebeck, IBM.
Presentations were also given from along the Corridor including Councilmember Steve Adams, Riverside, California; and Mayor Pro Tem Fernando Pedroza, Lynwood, California.
ROTCC formally supports Eisenhower Protocol
The River of Trade Corridor Coalition signed a resolution during the Annual Meeting to support the Eisenhower Protocol. This protocol calls for a nationwide policy on transportation. By passing this resolution ROTCC is on the forefront of the national transportation agenda, echoing the voices of many key Congressional leaders that it is indeed time for a change.
Riverof Trade Corridor Coalitionfocuses on Environmental Compliance: Forwarding a Green and Clean Corridor
During the ROTCC Annual Meeting presentations focused on Environmental Compliance. Meeting attendees heard presentations from speakers such as Gloria Vaughn, EPA; John Promise, North Central Texas Council of Governments; and Jimmy Ramsey, Clean Energy Fuels. The Coalition is dedicated to becoming a green and clean corridor in its entirety.
